Aqua Allegoria Anisia Bella by Guerlain (EDT 120ml)

I adore this scent. I love this scent. It is very, very refreshing and fabulous for hot weather: crisp and cool like a bulb of anise. The scent is more like the raw vegetable, not like an anise toast or aniseed cookie. I like to eat the real stuff raw, in small slices tossed into salads or arrangely neatly in a salade composée. But I don’t eat enough of it! However, the scent is easier to spray on and enjoy (though surely not as full of vitamins and fiber) and lasts much longer. If you don’t like anise smells or tastes, forget about it. Don’t even try! The eau de toilette is fairly linear: the other notes are blended in smoothly, with no sharp notes sticking out and calling attention to themselves. Overall this is fresh and invigorating without being either harsh or overly sweet. It is not licorice to me: I would never mistake it for a chunk of the black candy. Anisia Bella is lighter than Caron’s Eau de Reglisse and Etro’s Anice, and much more subtle than the Etro. I hope that it smells good on me. I don’t know how it would smell on a man; ah, personal chemistry!
